Audees
This is a lovely restaurant located along Burmah Road. The ambiance is really really lovely and the menu is pretty extensive. In fact, their chefs won some food-contest recently in Penang. Also their prices are pretty reasonable. Upstairs is the bar area complete with a gorgeous lounge area and on Friday and Saturday nights they have a full jazz band performing
Location : Burmah Road. (near Sokka Gakai)

Slippery Senoritas @ SS
Currently the most popular hang out joint in Penang. On weekends and certain days over the week they have a live band performing. Sometimes the band is good, sometimes it sucks BIG TIME. Went there last month and it sucked! So be prepared. On Thursday it’s Retro night. Ladies night is on Wednesday. It’s usually very crowded over the weekends so go early if you wanna get a place to park your ass
Location : Just opposite City Bayview Hotel. Drive to the end of Penang Road heading in the direction away from Komtar….it will be right in front of you
Cover : RM25 for one pathetic drink
MOMO
Used to be known as the Bungalow cos it is in fact a huge bungalow. Been there once before and the band at that time totally rocked! Not sure now.
Location : Right next to SS
SOHO
More of a pub than a club. No dance floor. No cover charge
Location : Along Penang Road next to Cititel
Chill Out
Pretty cool place. Huge! Has 3 different areas with 3 concepts : 1st area is where the live band is; 2nd room has the bar and the DJ plays some pretty funky R&B; 3rd room is for boogie-ing. Also the bar tender here is very the yummy!
Cover : RM20 or RM25 or RM30…can’t remember. But you get 2 free drinks…..drinks on the list are pretty limited though
Location : Gurney Hotel. Just drive along Gurney drive and you will see the hotel easily. There is a Starbucks right behind it
Sunset Bistro
Bar on the beach. They even have tables and chairs on the beach so you can sit by the candlelight and enjoy the great music. Very laid back setting. Food is also served. On weekends, there is usually a girl who does this fire-dancing thing…pretty cool. Oh and according to my friend Jeev apparently the best time to go is on a Saturday afternoon cos there are tons of chicks there in little bikinis!
Location : Head towards Ferringhi. Take the first turning to the right after Parkroyal Hotel. Go to the end of the road and turn left. The bar is right there.
According to my friend, the club scene in Auto City is apparently very very happening. They even have a SOHO's there and the crowd is supposedly very cool. Auto City is on the mainland, after the Juru toll, on the left
